Former Army contracting official gets 40 months for taking bribes

The Department of Justice announced on October 23 that a former Army contracting official dealing with trucking contracts at the Bagram Air in Iraq received a sentence of 40 months for accepting bribes in exchange for directing trucking contracts to two Afghan firms. From May to October, 2008, the former official received $87,000 in payments from the firms, wired to his former girlfriend in Virginia.
