Washington Post article details government, contractor inhibitions on whistleblowing

A June 30 Washington Post article, “Workplace secrecy agreements appear to violate federal whistleblower laws” described efforts by federal agencies and their contractors to prevent or dissuade employees from blowing the whistle on fraud and misconduct.

Featured in the article was the story of a Department of Energy contract worker who was made to sign, at DOE insistence, an agreement not to disclose wrongdoing and purported to prevent workers from profiting from whistleblowing – an incentive provided under the False Claims Act.
