The Washington Post reported on May 4 that FedEx has agreed to pay $8 million to resolve a whistleblower’s suit that it falsely blamed delays in delivering federal packages on heightened security measures in order to avoid paying refunds. The paper reports that the suit was unsealed in the District of Columbia on May 3, and that the whistleblower, a retired FedEx employee, will receive $1.44 million (an 18% relator’s share).
