In a report issued on October 23, the OIG-HHS announced the achievements of its Health Care Fraud and Abuse Control Program for the just-ended fiscal year.
The OIG states that its overall recoveries amounted to about $2.14 billion, and that qui tam relators received $157 million.
The program allocated nearly $54 million to DOJ for health care fraud work, including $30.4 million to the US Attorneys’ offices, $14.5 million to the Civil Division, and $3.1 million to the Criminal Division.
