DOJ announced on November 5 that it had filed suit in the WD Texas against three Kuwaiti firms and a former Army officer who has pleaded guilty to accepting bribes. The former officer and another had pleaded guilty to accepting bribes from the companies in exchange for awarding Blanket Purchasing Agreements to the companies. The US alleges that the companies, Green Valley Co., Palm Springs General Trading and Contracting Establishment and Jireh Springs General Trading and Contracting Establishment, agreed to pay the former officers, James Momon, Jr., and defendant John Cockerham, Jr., a total of $2.3 million.
