On November 27, President Obama signed the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act, which Congress passed on November 14. The Act overrides some decisions adverse to whistleblowers issued by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and has provisions to increase Office of Special Counsel involvement in retaliation cases.
